Program and Curriculum Overview
Deepening Discourse is a yearlong series of professional development opportunities designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of K-12 world language teachers.
During the 2017-2018 school year, a cohort of 40 teachers will be able to participate in the entire series, including full-day workshops, webinars, and opportunities for students to participate in language-related career days.
The cohort of 40 teachers will include two teacher tracks, one for general teacher participants and one for teachers who have exhibited leadership and are interested in advancing their leadership skills. The series will be facilitated by nationally recognized instructors of world language teaching.
Teachers in the series have the opportunity to impact their own practice and to make an impact on other teachers as well. Participants actively strengthen the network of language teachers in New York City.
The teachers who participate in this series also get first priority for involving their classes in Global Language Project language-focused career days with our fantastic partners.
After successfully completing the first year of the series, teachers will be invited to join the cohort for a second year.
