Our Curriculum and Philosophy

Our unique curriculum has been developed by certified language teachers and researchers, led by the following learning philosophy:

  • Develop functional proficiency in a language other than English
  • Emphasize speaking and comprehension
  • Enhance reading abilities in both English and the target language
  • Increase overall cognitive skills
  • Promote and cultivate awareness and appreciation of multilingual cultures
  • Meet district, state, and national language-learning standards

Our curriculum incorporates content to fit into state education standards as they are implemented in each school's particular community and corresponding grade levels, so that the content students must master is familiar and reinforced. It leverages classroom activities so that the students' use of a language is a vehicle to accomplish a goal, rather than an end in itself. Our teachers support proficiency development with games, songs and creative activities that bring each student to the next level of proficiency no matter what his or her starting level.
